Hongkong, 19th. December, 1901.

In reply to your letter No. 3219 of even date we beg to inform you that we are willing to sell the Marine Lot in front of our present offices to the Government at the rate of Twenty Mexican Dollars ($20) per square foot.

We are agreeable that the Government have the refusal of this offer for a period of two months, but we shall be obliged if you will kindly arrange that, in the event of the Secretary of State declining this offer, we may be so informed by telegram as promptly as possible.
